Description

On the outskirts of Amersfoort, take a stroll through the beautiful Bergkwartier district. This neighborhood is a protected cityscape due to its unique architecture. After just a few hundred meters, you'll see a monumental rector's residence in traditionalist style on your left. Further on, you'll pass several beautiful houses. After crossing Utrechtseweg, you'll walk past a monumental water tower dating from 1912. Then, you'll climb Amersfoortse Berg, a hill 44 meters above sea level. This park-like forest is also known as Little Switzerland. It's a wonderfully relaxing walk here. On Doctor Jan Pieter Heijelaan, you'll see Villa de Wachter, dating from 1929, on your right, an example of commercial expressionism. Across Utrechtseweg, you'll pass the Belgian Monument from 1919. The route ends at Leerhotel Het Klooster.
