The route starts at Buitengoed Weerwille. You can soon get off again to take a look at Museum Farm Pasmans Huus. Dwingelderveld National Park is unique in size and special in terms of flora and fauna. In addition to typical heather plants; shrub, cap and crow heather and sundew, you will encounter the rare sedge and bell gentian. They are surrounded by almost three hundred different bird species, many of which also breed in the area. There are also herds of heath sheep walking around. Imagine yourself far from civilization among the rolling heathlands, more than sixty ponds and fens, drifting sandy soils and forests in the largest wet heathland area in Western Europe. You cycle back over the Echtenerzand, hidden in the Ruinerbos. The old juniper berries and maritime pines take you back to the Drenthe of the past. At the end of the route you return to Buitengoed Weerwille. In the characteristic Drenthe landscape you can go to Buitengoed Weerwille for a cup of coffee or tea with homemade cakes, a lunch or snacks with a tasty drink. You then look out over the first Pitch & Putt course that was built in Ruinerwold in 1998. This 18-hole course is beautifully embedded in the landscape. Length differences and obstacles such as sand bunkers, trees and ponds make every hole challenging and unique.
