Round Sloterpark in New West

Your route starts at ParkCafé - Herdenkingspark Westgaarde. From here you can take a nice walk through the Sloterpark, around the Sloterplas in Nieuw-West. The park has been thoroughly refurbished, overdue maintenance has been eliminated to make it an attractive park for sports and recreation, with varied nature. The riparian zone of the area between Christoffel Plantijngracht and Jan Evertsenstraat has become a better living environment for plants and animals. The park can also absorb rain showers better and there are more shaded areas on sunny days. Particularly on the east side, much has been done to improve water management. Nice to discover are the kingfisher walls, the restored plant areas in the Heemtuin, the natural stone benches in De Natureluur and the large bastion, which has been restored.
