Description

This route takes you from the starting point in Dordrecht through the polder landscape with unprecedented views, winding creeks and meandering dikes. This is a nice e-bike route.

The Hoeksche Waard was created when the St. Elisabeth Flood of 1421 flooded the area. This flood drastically changed the watercourses in the area. Most of the dikes in the landscape were built between 1538 and 1653. Along the way you cycle past Landzicht, the remains of a windmill. Get off your bike here to see the remains of the mill. That is definitely worth it. In Westmaas you will find windmill Windlust. This round stone mill from 1853 milled grain for almost a hundred years.
