Description
This route starts and ends at Restaurant 't Edelhert; enjoy a delicious meal and a refreshing drink here before your trip. You will ride past forests and heathland to the Staverden estate, with its accompanying Staverden Castle. The current castle was built in 1905 on the foundations of the 13th-century Pauwenburcht. White peacocks are bred behind the castle, a tradition dating back to the time when noblemen still wore feathers on their helmets. The rest of the route takes you through beautiful green forests and vast fields.
