Description
You drive past forests and heathland to the Staverden estate, with its associated Staverden castle. The current castle was built in 1905 on the foundations of the thirteenth-century Peacock Castle. White peacocks are bred behind the castle, a tradition that dates back to the time when noblemen still wore feathers on their helmets. The rest of the route takes you through beautiful green forests and vast fields.
