Description
You drive past forests and heathland to the Staverden estate, with the associated Staverden Castle. The current castle was built in 1905 on the foundations of the thirteenth-century Pauwenburcht. White peacocks are bred behind the castle, a tradition that dates back to the days when noblemen still wore feathers on their helmets. The rest of the route takes you through beautiful green forests and vast fields.
