Tour of Coevorden, Zwinderen and Havezate De Klencke

Your route starts at H Design Hotels Kasteel Coevorden. A place with history, because the first castle was already here around 1025. The current national monument is a nice place to start the day with breakfast or coffee. You start with a tour along the fortress of Coevorden. Then you cycle to the authentic Drenthe esdorp Zwinderen. Nearby you can dive into the nature of the tranquil Gees forestry. Fens glisten between the deciduous trees, here and there the forest breaks open for a heath. Havezate De Klencke is a small estate consisting of agricultural land and deciduous forest. The buildings on the estate are centuries old, dating back to the year 1520. In 1961, the estate was bequeathed to the Vereniging Natuurmonumenten.
