Tour of Van Gogh in and around Nuenen

There are beautiful places around Nuenen that played a role in the life of Vincent van Gogh. Just below Nuenen you cycle past the seventeenth-century Collse Mill. Van Gogh made a painting of this building in 1884. From junction 99 you drive on the Van Gogh-Roosegaarde cycle path. Here, fluorescent stars have been incorporated into the asphalt as a tribute to The Starry Night, a world-famous work by Van Gogh. Further on you drive through the Nuenens Broek, a nature reserve where poplars were planted in the 1930s. At junction 78 you see the Roosdonck, a round belt mill from 1884. Van Gogh drew this mill no fewer than seven times. In Nuenen itself you drive past the Van Gogh church and the painter's old house. The route ends at Parkhotel & Brasserie Auberge Vincent.
