Discover the nature reserves Deelerwoud and Kootwijk

The first part of this route takes you along the edge of the Veluwe. On the left lie vast forests, while on the right you look out over meadows and fields. Just past junction 76, you'll see a Germanic well in the field on the left. It's a reconstruction of a well that stood here around 300 BC to irrigate the ridge fields near the Wekeromse Zand. You then cycle through the expansive Gelderse Vallei on quiet lanes. In Walderveen, you'll see a corn mill dating from 1895. At junction 47, you enter Kallenbroek: an old farmland with streams and forests. In Barneveld, you'll discover the De Schaffelaar estate, home to a magnificent castle. Via Kootwijkerbroek and Harskamp, you'll cycle to Otterlo, after which you'll cycle through the Roekelse Bos back to the Oud Beekdal estate.
