Discover the Deelerwoud and Kootwijk nature reserves

The first part of this route takes you along the edge of the Veluwe. On the left there are extensive forests, on the right you look out over meadows and fields. Just past junction 76 you will see a Germanic well in the field on the left. It is a reconstruction of a well that stood here around 300 BC to water the comb fields at the Wekeromse Zand. You then drive through the vast Gelderse Vallei on car-free roads. In Walderveen you will see a flour mill from 1895. At junction 47 you enter Kallenbroek: an old farming landscape with streams and forests. In Barneveld you will discover the De Schaffelaar estate, where there is a beautiful castle. You cycle to Otterlo via Kootwijkerbroek and Harskamp, after which you drive through the Roekelse Bos back to the Oud Beekdal Estate.
