Description

Your route starts at Restaurant De 3 Gebroeders in Gerwen, a village where you can admire the early seventeenth-century St. Clemens Church. Then you walk to Nuenen. Vincent van Gogh lived and worked in this beautiful village from December 1883 to November 1885. Here he created almost a quarter of his total oeuvre. His father was a preacher in the Van Gogh Church, Van Gogh painted the building as a gift to his mother in 1884. Stop by the Vincentre (Berg 29) with the beautiful interactive exhibition. Across the street you will find the house where Vincent lived. Then you pass windmill De Roosdonck, next door was the house where the family lived that was immortalized in his first masterpiece, The Potato Eaters.
