Walking through Reek and the Mineursberg

From Reek you can easily walk into the countryside. Here you pass De Hellemolen, a white-painted flour mill dating from 1832. Then you walk through the Mineursberg, a nature reserve that opened in 2006. The name of this area is taken from Napoleonic times, when the'Mineurs et Sappeurs\\\' (minelayers and firefighters) practiced here. Scots pines and American oaks grow there. In the middle of the area you walk through a rolling heathland area that was once used as a cross track. Now it is wonderfully quiet to walk here. You take a short trip to the wide fields below the Mineursberg, after which you walk back to Reek through the forest. Here you will pass, among other things, the Antonius Abt Church from 1927. At De Linde you can enjoy a terrace.
