Walking through Reek and the Mineursberg

From Reek you can walk straight into the countryside. Here you pass De Hellemolen, a white-painted corn mill dating from 1832. You then walk through the Mineursberg, a nature reserve that was opened in 2006. The name of this area is derived from the Napoleonic era, when'Mineurs et Sappeurs\\\' (minelayers and firefighters) practiced here. Scots pines and American oaks grow there. In the middle of the area you walk through a sloping moorland that was once used as a cross track. Now it is nice and quiet walking here. You take a short trip to the wide fields below the Mineursberg, after which you walk back to Reek through the forest. Here you pass, among other things, the Antonius Abtkerk from 1927. At De Linde you can enjoy a terrace.
