Tour of Strabrechtse Heide, Mierlo and Someren

Your route starts at Montana Creek Restaurant. Between Someren, Mierlo and Lierop it is beautiful cycling through the Brabant nature. You cycle through the Lieropse Heide, here lies the Beuven that is known for its many birds. You also cycle onto the adjacent Strabrechtse Heide. This extensive nature reserve gives you an idea of how a large part of Brabant looked centuries ago. At the hamlet of Trimpert you cycle through Molenheide. This nature reserve was once an extensive heathland, but was developed just before the Second World War as a work creation project. As in many other places, conifers were planted for the mining industry in South Limburg. In Mierlo you pass a town hall and an old corn mill. Take the time for a terrace at Valentino Someren along the way!
