Arcen-Venlo and return.

This is the sixth route in the Tour of the Netherlands series.

You can park your car a little further past De Brouwerij van Hertog Jan.

You will soon be in the middle of the village of Arcen. Nice but a bit touristy.

You will pass the castle gardens and the beautiful canals surrounding them. There is a watermill from 1677. The fortress tower used to be a Maastol.

On well-maintained paths through the beautiful deciduous forests to junction 27. This point is added between 94 and 95. You pass close to the Ravenvennen. You also drive close to the German border. Many strawberries are grown in this area. 

We turn off to the Maas, where the village of Velden is located. Many plants are grown here in enormous greenhouses.

Along the Maas to Venlo, created by a ford in the Maas. Venlo is a shopping city for Germany. Just before Venlo you can relax on a bench and enjoy the view of Venlo.

You go over the railway bridge to Blerick via the cycle path. Further on you cycle through an industrial estate, but soon you enter the forest again on the way to Grubbenvorst.

Over the Houthuizerheide to Broekhuizen, where you will encounter some rose nurseries along the way.

In Broekhuizen you can take a lovely break at the Maas and then take the ferry to the other side (Junction 70).
