A beautiful route over the Hei, through the forest and past small villages, from Ermelo you cycle towards the picturesque Staverden and the Staverden estate. Then the route takes you past Uddel, towards Assel, where you encounter a small piece of unpaved forest path, but only because the nature is so beautiful, this path quickly turns into an asphalted path. Then you cycle through Kootwijk and Boveneinde, where you cycle across heathland, past meadows and through the forest. There are regular benches along this route to take a break. Cycling towards Ermelo again, the route runs over the beautiful Arnhemsekarweg, an asphalted cycle path through the Veluwe forests. The route starts at the station in Ermelo, but you can also start elsewhere.
This route is suitable for everyone, often the crossing points are very safe due to roundabouts, for example, except for a single crossing. Keep in mind that there is sometimes a bit of climbing, but a climb almost always means cycling down again somewhere, as far as I'm concerned, that's what makes cycling here so much fun. Wishing you lots of cycling pleasure.
