This is the fifth route of a series of Tour of the Netherlands . Also purchase the booklet for more information.
From the parking lot in Aijen (at junction 68) we leave past the Veerhuis towards Well. On the Grotestraat there is a historic cemetery. At Blitterswijck you can cross the Maas by foot ferry. Broekhuizen has a 15th-century Catholic church, which has been revived after it was destroyed in the last war.
Arcen is known for its delicious beer and the gardens of Arcen Castle. There is also a water mill from 1677 here.
However, we drive back over the Hamert at the brewery (junction 70). Cattle and goats roam here. These were quite hungry and attacked our lunch. Beautiful piece of heathland. Continue through deciduous forests and good paths towards the Reindersmeer and at junction 80 turn to Aijen.
