Just outside Herkenbosch you will find two beautiful areas to walk through: the German nature reserve Lüsekamp und Boschbeektal and the Dutch National Park De Meinweg. You walk here through vast forests, along heaths and through grasslands. In short, a wonderfully varied landscape.
Two nature reserves together
Nature area Lüsekamp und Boschbeektal and the National Park De Meinweg are two nature areas that merge into each other. Together with the surrounding nature reserves, they form a cross-border landscape where you can walk endlessly. A large part of the area consists of dry forests, but if you descend a bit to the lower parts of the areas you will also pass moors, grasslands and marshes. This area is maintained with the help of a herd of sheep. You might even bump into this herd during this walking tour.
