Description
The small town of Veldhoek is the starting point of this route. Enjoy a snack and a drink at De Zellerij Eten & Drinken! The village of Ruurlo is the highlight of this route. The biggest attraction of Ruurlo is located just outside the village: Ruurlo Castle. This castle was already mentioned in 1326, but it is not clear exactly how old the castle is. From the 15th century until 1977, the castle was in the hands of the noble Van Heeckeren family. The castle was then restored and used as a town hall for a while. Nowadays the castle is again in the hands of a private owner. You drive back via Mariënvelde. The Our Lady of Lourdes Church is the main point of the village.
