Across the border to Bocholt, Germany

From the Netherlands to Germany
On the first part of this route you mainly cycle along extensive agricultural areas. A wonderful route to let your thoughts run wild and relax for a while. You cycle across the German border to Bocholt in one go without interruptions such as villages. Bocholt is a small city with a historic city center. Are you ready for a break? Then get off your bike and find a terrace for a snack and a drink. Then you can continue your way to Varsseveld. Along the way you will pass the Waterradmolen and the Wenninkmolen.

Inn de Radstake
Then you cycle into Varsseveld, where you can visit Museum Farm Het Hofshuus. Here you will learn more about farm life of the last century. The end point of this cycle route is at Herberg de Radstake. The cozy terrace of the Radstake immediately invites you to sit down with a nice drink or a snack.

The Varsseveldse cups
Around Varsseveld there is a landscape with cover sand heads with small-scale relief differences. This area is called the Varsseveldse kopps. These small hills were created during the last ice age. It was so cold in the Netherlands at the time that there was hardly any vegetation. This gave the wind free rein and sand was moved from one place to another. This created small sand hills in the landscape.
