Tour of Tholen and Yerseke

Your route starts at Camping Den Inkel. From here you can take a bike ride across Tholen, via a ferry at Yerseke. In Kruiningen you will pass the beautiful fifteenth-century Johanneskerk. You will also pass the Old Mill from 1801. Get off in Yerseke before getting on the ferry if you fancy mussels! Then you drive back along the Zoommeer, a freshwater lake west of Bergen op Zoom, at the site of the drowned land of Reimerswaal. The area of 1053 hectares is on the Natura 2000 list. The Zoommeer was created by the construction of the Oesterdam and the Markiezaatskade and is part of the Scheldt-Rhine connection, a tidal-free shipping connection between Antwerp and Rotterdam. It provides ships with access to the port of Bergen op Zoom.
