Description
Nearby you will pick up a cycle path on a former railway line: this is the Halvezolenlijntje, named after the shoe parts and leather that were transported by train. It was only a single (half) line: a half-sole line. It will lead you smoothly to the Loonse & Drunense Duinen National Park. This area is known for its vast sand plain. However, you can also enjoy cycling through the woods. You cycle back via the beautiful old town of Dongen, through a mosaic of stream valleys, grasslands and arable lands. Then you discover De Donge at's Gravenmoer: unusually enough, this is not a river but a lowland stream. It is created by ground and rainwater that merge into a stream. Cycling along the Donge you have beautiful views over the polders.
