Round Loonse Drunense Duinen, Dongen and Donge

The route starts at Hieriest Eetcafé. Nearby you pick up a cycle path over a former railway: this is the Halvezolenlijntje, named after the shoe parts and leather that were transported by train. It was only a single (half) line: a half sole line. It leads you smoothly to the Loonse & Drunense Duinen National Park. This area is known for its vast expanse of sand. You can also enjoy cycling through the woods. You cycle back via the beautiful old town of Dongen, through a mosaic of stream valleys, grasslands and arable land. Afterwards you will discover De Donge at's Gravenmoer: this is not a river, but a lowland stream. It is created by groundwater and rainwater that merge into a stream. Cycling along the Donge you have beautiful views over the polders.
