Roggebotzand walk

Put on your sturdy walking shoes for a lovely walk through the Roggebotzand. When the Zuiderzee still ruled here, this was a treacherous sandbank where many a fisherman lost his ship. After the completion of Flevoland, a forest was planted on the former sandbank. You now walk between conifers, spruces and poplars. You will also pass the Roggebottocht, a drainage stream. With a bit of luck, you can spot the sea eagle that regularly soars through the air here. Towards the end of your route, you will walk across the Roggebotstaete estate, a young nature reserve with various experimental gardens. A little later you will walk along the dike along the Vossemeer. Here you have a wide view of the area.
