Walk Roggebotzand

Put on your sturdy walking shoes for a nice walk through the Roggebotzand. When the Zuiderzee still held sway here, this was a treacherous sandbank where many a fisherman lost their ship. After the completion of Flevoland, a forest was created on the former sandbank. You now walk between conifers, spruces and poplars. You will also pass the Roggebottocht, a drainage stream. With a bit of luck you can spot the white-tailed eagle that regularly skims through the air here. Towards the end of your route you walk across Landgoed Roggebotstaete, a young nature reserve with various testing grounds. A little later you walk on the dike along the Vossemeer. Here you have a wide view of the area. After returning to EuroParcs De IJssel Eilanden you can visit the restaurant.
