Walking through ruins and nature

You can take beautiful walks from EuroParcs Ruinen. This route takes you through the area surrounding Ruinen. In the village itself, you will pass the twelfth-century Maria Church on the Brink. The building originally belonged to a Benedictine monastery, which was moved in 1325. In the countryside it is quiet walking on car-free roads. You walk past fields and meadows, and you also see some beautiful thatched farms. You walk a bit along the rippling water of the Ruiner Aa. This largely canalized river provides drainage for the area. You walk the last part of the route along the edge of the Dwingelderveld. You pass a lookout tower and the sheepfold of the Ruiner herd. When you return to the holiday park you are welcome in the restaurant.
