Tour of Ruinen, Dwingelderveld and Uffelte

There is plenty to do in Drenthe. Soon after boarding, you will cycle through Ruinen. At the village green, you will see the twelfth-century Mariakerk. From junction 93, you will cycle through the Ruinen Forestry. This nature reserve was created around 1940 for the Limburg mining industry. You will cycle through a series of coniferous forests, heathland, fens and sand drifts. Further on, you will cycle through the Dwingelderveld National Park. It is wonderfully quiet on the heathland. Unless you come across the herd of Drenthe heath sheep that graze here. You will cycle along fields, grasslands and Saxon farms on car-free roads. A little later, you will see the next nature reserve appear on the horizon: the Holtingerveld.
