Description

A day of cycling in Drenthe is never boring. You will find plenty of nature and culture here. Shortly after boarding you can take a look at the Ruiner sheepfold. There is also a lookout tower here. You then cycle through the Dwingelderveld, the largest wet heathland in Western Europe. You cycle through the adjacent forest to Lhee, a picturesque village where you see some old thatched farms. Further on you drive through the Drenthe part of the Drents-Friese Wold National Park. In Diever you will see some monumental Saxon farms on the Brink. The former Schultehuis dates from 1604. Dwingeloo is also a village worth seeing. Here you see the St. Nicholas Church. This dates from the fifteenth century and has a spire in the shape of an onion. The route ends at EuroParcs De Wiltzangh.
