Walking route Westmaas and polder

Make sure you wear sturdy and waterproof shoes, because part of the route is on unpaved paths! The first part you walk on a car-free road along fields, meadows and ditches. Ideal for catching up with your fellow walkers. Then you pass through Westmaas. This village is located on the Binnenbedijkte Maas, a lake that emerged from an old Maas arm. You pass the Windlust, a corn mill from 1853. Further on is the village church from 1650. You walk back into the polder along the rippling water of the Negentienmorgenvliet. Just past junction 19 you walk along another watercourse, simply called De Vliet.
