The end of the Pieterpad is already in sight when you follow this stage. During this trip you walk from Montfort to Sittard. You can explore various nature reserves and cozy towns on foot. You also briefly cross the border into Germany near the Limburg border. This castle dates from 1260 and it was one of the largest castles in the Netherlands for centuries. The castle no longer has that title, but the ruins of this castle are still worth seeing. Step back in time at this castle and learn more about the fascinating past of'Heerlickheit Montfort\\\'. From the Panorama room of the castle you have a beautiful view over the estates around the castle and the castle garden is also worth a visit. In short, you should not miss this sight on this route.

Along the German border
The rest of the route takes you into the direction of the German Schalbruch.
