Description
From the Betuwe you will make a trip through the Gelderse Rivierengebied. That will be a beautiful day full of views over the Waal and Rhine and over orchards. Along the way you will see plenty of Gelderland cultural history. Over the Waalbandijk it is beautiful to make kilometers along the floodplains and the river. With a ferry you cross the Waal to Tiel, the beautiful Hanseatic town. One of the oldest towns in the Netherlands! Kasteel Zoelen (or Soelen) is a picture. The original building was destroyed in 1362, the current seventeenth-century house is located about 500 meters away from the place where the old castle stood. The estate in English style can be visited. Beautiful with all those historical outbuildings!
