Tour of Tiel, Zoelen and Waal

Your route starts at restaurant Broer & Ko in Kesteren. From the Betuwe you make a trip through the Gelderse River area. That will be a beautiful day full of views over Waal and Rhine and over fruit orchards. Along the way you will see plenty of Gelderland cultural history. On the Waalbandijk it is wonderful to make kilometers along the floodplains and the river. With a ferry you cross the Waal to Tiel, the beautiful Hanseatic town. One of the oldest towns in the Netherlands! Castle Zoelen (or Soelen) is a picture. The original building was destroyed in 1362, the current seventeenth century house is located about 500 meters from the site of the old castle. The English-style estate can be visited. Beautiful with all those historic outbuildings!
