Description
The Kiekberg and Sint-Jansberg are part of a moraine landscape from the ice age. You can enjoy walking along clear streams and through the largest chestnut forest in the Netherlands. Every now and then you have beautiful views of the fields and grasslands that lie on Dutch and German territory! Not only the views, but also the sunken roads are reminiscent of the South Limburg hills. During your walk you will also experience the cultural history of this region. For example, you will pass the Bovenste Plasmolen, a national monument from 1725. On the Riethorsterweg you will see the characteristic Maria Sterre der Zee chapel from 1955. After your walk you can enjoy a traditional ice cream on the terrace of Clevers IJssalon Plasmolen.
