Cycling through Kempen estates

You'll cycle first through the forests of the Gorp & Roovert Estate. One moment, the shadows of oaks and beeches dominate, while a little further on, you'll be riding among fragrant conifers. Occasionally, you'll see fens and have beautiful vistas across grasslands. In this tranquil border region, you'll feel like you're alone in the world. In the old hamlet of Gorp, you'll see a few farms and a beautiful, monumental hunting lodge dating from 1870. Then you'll cycle through Hilvarenbeek, with its picturesque old village center. Via Esbeek, you'll cycle through the forests to Belgium. The countryside around Poppel offers peaceful cycling. Back in the Netherlands, you'll cycle between Alphen and Riel along the Bels Lijntje, a former railway line. Via the Nieuwkerk Estate, you'll return to the starting point: the De Roovertsche Leij Nature Gateway.
