City walk Coevorden

Coevorden is the oldest town in Drenthe. It has a rich history as a fortress and houses many beautiful old buildings. Ideal for exploring on a walk. The route takes you past the Reformed Church from 1641, among other things. This is one of the first Protestant church buildings in the Netherlands. Further on you walk along the old city canal. You can clearly recognize the star shape that Coevorden had as a fortress. At the Port you can see two more warehouses that are located in the former seventeenth-century arsenal. The Stedelijk Museum Coevorden is located in one of them. Further on you walk past Kasteel Coevorden, after which you walk through the Van Heutszpark. Finally, you walk along Molenstraat past some former garrison houses from 1765. The route ends at Hotel Restaurant Talens.
