Ede, Gelderland, The Netherlands
Cycling route: 370736
Provided by: route.nl
There are no significant villages on your route, only old characteristic hamlets. You drive a considerable distance along the Valleikanaal, a watercourse that formed an important part of the Grebbelinie. A special place on your route is the area around Kasteel Renswoude. Around the castle forest you drive through a small-scale landscape with woods, meadows, hedgerows and lowland streams. In the Dorpsstraat of Renswoude (to the right of junction 36) there are still a number of former service houses for the castle staff from the eighteenth century. The castle itself dates from 1350 and is privately inhabited, so not accessible.
