Walking route Renesse and Vroongronden

The route immediately starts well: on the Ring of Renesse. Here you can see some beautiful historic buildings. Further on you walk into the Vroongronden. This nature reserve consists of a sand drift landscape that originally dates from the Middle Ages. Centuries of grazing have flattened the soil and reduced it to a half-open dune landscape with a few creeks. It is a wonderfully quiet walk here, ideal for relaxing and chatting with your fellow hikers. On the western edge of this area you walk through a dune forest. Just past junction 22 you enter the Duinzoom. This relatively young nature reserve is about 130 hectares in size. What makes this area especially interesting is that Staatsbosbeheer has made the old transition from dune to polder visible here. The route ends at Hotel Renesse.
