Description
From Renesse you drive through the vast landscape of Schouwen-Duiveland. You can cycle here in peace and quiet, while looking out over the grasslands. Between junctions 82 and 88 the path follows the course of a small canal. Further on you cycle around the Prunjepolder: a wetland nature reserve that is rich in birds. Just past junction 81 you will see the Schelphoek. This creek area was created from one of the largest dike breaches during the flood disaster in 1953. Further on is the Plompetoren, a former church tower from 1468. From the top you have a unique panorama over Schouwen-Duiveland and the Oosterschelde National Park. Westerschouwen Forestry is the largest forest in Zeeland. It is suddenly surprisingly quiet here among the trees.
