Route the history of WWII

With this route you cycle past a number of highlights from the Second World War. Pause for a moment at the war memorial 'De Woeste Hoeve' where the attack on SS General Rauter took place on the night of March 6 to March 7, 1945. In reprisal, the Germans had several hundred prisoners executed, including 117 at Woeste Hoeve. Continue your route via the heathland plains towards Deelen. Here you will find Deelen Air Base Museum. The German Luftwaffe expanded the simple grass runway from the 1930s into a large night fighter base. You will also see a collection of personal stories from the war of friend and enemy.
