Show off wailen; The jewels between Zoutkamp and Pieterburen

This tour takes you along the many'pronkjewailen\\\' in the northwest of Groningen. That means enjoying historic villages and cultural monuments. And of course the quiet wierden landscape with its swaying crops, meandering waters and beautiful clouds. A striking location is the Tea Factory in Houwerzijl. This tea museum is housed in a nineteenth-century former church and adjoining parsonage. There are two monumental locks in Zoutkamp: the Hunsingo lock from 1859 and the Reitdiep locks from 1877. On the Reitdiepskade you can see some picturesque wooden houses from the nineties of the last century. On the other side of the Reitdiep is Camping de Rousant where you can stay nice and quiet.
