Description
This tour takes you past the many'pronkjewail\\\' in the northwest of Groningen. This means enjoying historic villages and cultural monuments. And of course the peaceful mound landscape with its waving crops, winding waters and beautiful cloud formations. A striking location is the Tea Factory in Houwerzijl. This tea museum is located in a nineteenth-century former church and adjacent parsonage. There are two monumental locks in Zoutkamp: the Hunsingos lock from 1859 and the Reitdiep locks from 1877. On the Reitdiepskade you will see some picturesque wooden houses from the 1990s. On the other side of the Reitdiep is Camping de Rousant where you can stay in a nice and quiet area.
