Description
The area around Broek in Waterland consists of endless polders that are separated by ditches, canals and lakes. A beautiful area to walk through, especially because you have beautiful views here, no matter which way you look.
Pastel colored houses
The village of Broek in Waterland with its typical wooden houses in pastel shades is the starting point of this walking route. Through this picturesque village you walk straight into the surrounding polders. You walk over the Volgermeerpolder, among other things. This area is not actually a polder. It was accidentally designated as such in 1853 by a mapmaker and the area has been given this name ever since. A little further on you pass the Bozenmeertje to finally end up in Broek in Waterland again.
