Round Bels Lijntje and Chaam

Your route starts at B&B Wilgenhart. With this route you will discover the Bels Lijntje, the former railway line between Tilburg and Turnhout, now a cycle path. It is only on a bicycle that you notice that the border area between Tilburg and Turnhout is actually one vast, contiguous nature reserve. You will also discover what they say is the most remarkable village in the world: 30 pieces of Belgium and the Netherlands that, intertwined, form the village of Baarle. The border in Baarle criss-crosses roads, houses and gardens. In the built-up area, the enclave boundaries have been made visible everywhere with the help of special pavement tiles and aluminum plates in the road surface. The national tricolor displayed on the house number plates also indicates that the front door of a house or building is located in Belgium or the Netherlands.
