Walking in the countryside of Panningen

You start this walk at the charming Market Square in Panningen. Just before entering Schoolstraat, take a moment to look to your left. Here stands the monumental Church of Our Lady of Seven Sorrows, built in the characteristic 1930s style. A little later, you walk through a varied landscape of arable land and flower-filled meadows. It is a route with many photo opportunities and spots to enjoy the silence. Just below the village of Koningslust, you walk through the Vlakbroek, a former marsh that once had an open connection to the Maas River. Now it is a unique nature reserve with many rare plants and animals. For example, around 31 species of butterflies live there. Keep your eyes open and stop regularly; there is a good chance you will encounter one of these fluttering beauties while walking! The walk ends with coffee and lunch at Cafe Tinus.
