Walking in the countryside of Panningen

Just north of the Limburg village of Panningen you walk through a varied landscape. An area of arable lands, flowery meadows and small-scale forest areas. This beautiful route offers you many photo opportunities and places to enjoy the silence. The route also takes you through Panningen itself, where you can take a coffee or lunch break at the cozy Café Tinus. Here and there you see characteristic farms. Just below the village of Koningslust you walk through the Vlakbroek, a former swamp that once had an open connection with the Maas. Now it is a unique nature reserve with many rare plants and animals. For example, there are about 31 species of butterflies. Keep your eyes open and stop regularly, there's a good chance you'll come across such a fluttering beauty while out and about!
