Tour of Zevenhoven, Leimuiden and Westeinderplassen

From Uithoorn you can drive straight into the polder. First you drive a few kilometers along the Kromme Mijdrecht. The polder along this river has settled over time, so that the vast grasslands and ditches are about one and a half meters lower. From the dike you also have wonderful views. Such as the Groene Jonker, a wetland nature reserve where you can admire many birds. Just past Nieuwveen you cycle along the banks of the Drecht. You will arrive at the Westeinderplassen. This lake was created by peat extraction, but never drained. You pass the Fort at Kudelstaart, after which you turn to the Zijdelmeer, a beautiful park. The route ends at Het Spoorhuis Uithoorn. Here you can enjoy a snack and drink at your leisure.
