This is the first route in a whole series. These are circular routes, each of which includes part of"
".
An attempt has been made to create day routes with a reasonable distance for the E-bike.
You can always choose good weather and staying overnight is not necessary if you can transport the bicycles by car. Of course you can spend the night somewhere for a few days if the distances by car become too great for one day. It is of course useful to also purchase the booklet De Ronde van Nederland. There is a lot of interesting information to read in it. In this way you can collect the entire Ronde Van Nederland together and you will also see more of the landscape around the"Ronde\\\".
This first route starts in Arnhem near the new station (41) and once over the Nelson Mandela Bridge there are beautiful cycle paths over the dike. The Battle of Arnhem took place at the next bridge (John Frost Bridge) in 1944. On this route you will come across many information boards with clear explanations about the landscape. After the old town of Huissen you take the Looveer across the Pannerdens canal to cycle over the dike to Pannerden and Millingen. After transferring with the ferry"To and fro\\\" you have a beautiful view of the Rhine at the café.
PLEASE NOTE: You must inquire whether the bicycle and pedestrian ferry operates between junctions 71 and 79. The ferry only runs on weekends in May and daily in July and August. (PLEASE INFORM!). We cycled in April, so we had to cycle back over Millingen (ferry) to Pannerden to take the ferry across the Pannerdens canal.
