Tour of Gemert, Boekel and Nederheide

It is wonderful cycling around Gemert. You drive here through a mix of farmlands and nature reserves, such as the Grotelsche Bos. You will also pass through a few hamlets where you can still see characteristic long-gabled farms. On the edge of Gemert you pass Gemert Castle. This castle originally dates from 1391 and was built for the Teutonic Order at the time. The current main building dates from 1740. You drive through the valley of the river Aa to Boekel. You pass Molen Boekel, a flour mill from 1785. Due to a dispute over plot rights, it may not turn or even be moved. Further on you can get off for a pit stop at grand café Smullen, before cycling back to Op d\\\'n Kreijtenberg Bed & Breakfast through the woods and the village of Handel.
