Cycling route between Bergen and Bergen aan Zee

This beautiful cycling route starts in the heart of Bergen at the new location of Fietsverhuurbergenaanzee.nl. From here you first drive to Schoorl where you can take a look at the beautiful Town Hall from 1601. Then you cycle on a sloping path through the Schoorlse Duinen, one of the most beautiful nature reserves in the Netherlands. In between you will pass through Bergen aan Zee, where the first branch of Fietsverhuurbergenaanzee.nl is located. Around Wimmenum you drive past several bulb fields, after which you cycle into the historic heart of Alkmaar. For example, on the corner of Geest and Kanisstraat you pass a sixteenth-century house. Further on is the fifteenth-century St. Laurens Church. You drive through the polder to the next beautiful place: the artists' village of Bergen. You drive past many monumental villas and you also pass the beautiful Ruine Church.
