Bergen aan Zee to Alkmaar, back via Bergen and Schoorl

From Fietsverhuurbergenaanzee.nl you can take a cycling tour to Alkmaar. First you loosen your legs in the dunes. From Wimmenum you drive further inland, while looking out over some bulb fields. In the historic heart of Alkmaar you will see many beautiful buildings. For example, there is a sixteenth-century house on the corner of Geest and Kanisstraat. At Ritsevoort you pass the seventeenth-century Hofje van Splinter on the left, just before you cross the canal. Further on is the fifteenth-century St. Laurens Church. You drive through the polder to the next beautiful place: artists' village Bergen. You drive past many monumental villas and you also pass the Ruin Church. In Schoorl you can take a look at the Town Hall from 1601. Finally, you drive a few more kilometers through the dunes.
