This area can be described as a typical Dutch landscape. Wide views, interspersed with old roads with trees and all kinds of dikes and dikes, with and without sheep.
A nice piece of history within the West Frisian Omringdijk. It testifies to man's struggle against water for centuries. This dike was finally completed in 1596, although there were a number of breaches since then.
The Wogmeer itself was once a lake but has been ground dry, so now it is a small polder.
During the walk you walk through very old hamlets, villages and hamlets. The dike itself is a bit more to the south than where we walk, but it is thanks to that dike that we can walk here.
Hopefully it will be dry when you go for a walk, otherwise it will be soaking and no dike offers protection against that, only rain suits and boots ....
Lots of hiking fun.
