Vecht en Plassen - Past Muiden and the Naardermeer, the Floris V path leads along the winding Vecht with its beautiful country houses and along the Ankeveense, Kortenhoefse and Loosdrechtse Plassen. Via old church paths, the walker crosses an area of reed beds, lakes, wetland forests, grasslands and swampy peat bogs. The lakes were created in the 17th century by excavating peat. Now it is a valuable nature reserve where walkers and cyclists get their money's worth. Groene Hart - The Floris V path leads straight through the Groene Hart after the Gooi. It used to be an impenetrable peat landscape. There are still open areas in the Groene Hart, but most will associate the Randstad with advancing urbanization and infrastructure. All the more surprising are the patches of greenery, the vast puddles and the meandering rivers that the hiker encounters.
