A beautiful route through the peat polders in the Albrandswaard with a visit to the many windmills at Kinderdijk.
Parking is available on the corner of Graafdijk-oost/Damseweg (starting point 13) in a sheltered parking lot. Via Brandwijk you cycle through the Donkse Laagten, a wet peat area with lots of water on both sides of the cycle route.
Don't forget to stop on the Brandwijksedijk to view house no. 35, the residents have put their life's work here into setting up a fairytale house with garden, it wouldn't look out of place next to the Efteling! A little further on at no. 43 is a beautiful tea garden"Terras Klein en Dorst\\\".
The friendly hostess has fresh pastries, a wonderful resting point on the route.
Then continue via a cycle path (no cars allowed) to Kinderdijk to view the many windmills.
The route returns via Alblasserdam, Oud Alblas, Bleskensgraaf and Molenaarsgraaf, you always drive along the water with beautiful houses and farms.
When you return to the parking lot, you have the option to finish with delicious artisanal ice cream from the kiosk opposite. Real farm milk ice cream!
