This tour lets you enjoy all the beauty along the Limburgse Maas. And that is quite a bit: atmospheric church villages, a national park and of course beautiful views over the river. Many cozy terraces also await you. I hope it tastes well!
Chapel
You cross the river with a ferry, on the other side of the bank you cycle on low-traffic roads between the floodplains and meadows. Just before Geijsteren you pass a white Maria chapel on your right. You will also regularly see monumental farms along the route. In Blitterswijck you pass the Protestant Church from 1828 and the Onze-Lieve-Vrouw Nativity Church, which originally dates from the fifteenth century.
Beautiful Maasduinen
The last part of the route you drive through De Maasduinen National Park. The longest river dune belt in the Netherlands is located here. The national park includes several sub-areas. You cycle through the Bergerheide, where you will find heaths, forests, fens and shifting sands. With a bit of luck you will meet the shepherd with her flock of sheep. At the Reindersmeer you have a beautiful view. Step off to enjoy the natural beauty and silence.
