Cycling through the showpiece of Friesland

The start and end point of this cycle route is in the middle of De Alde Feanen at Princenhof, Hotel & Restaurant. Here you can have a nice cup of coffee before departure or book an overnight stay. At the start of the route you cycle through De Alde Feanen National Park, an area that consists of various wet landscape types full of plants and animals. The marsh harrier, for example, occurs here. Leeuwarden is a city with an attractive and green center. You will find hundreds of monuments on the canals, you can visit one of the museums or go shopping. The old city center is a wonderful area to wander. Around the center you will mainly find nature and water-rich areas that have a lot to offer water sports enthusiasts. That's the common denominator here: you see boats everywhere!
