LDF Rivierenland

Cycled this route on a very beautiful day in early March, it was striking how quiet it was on the roads in this river country (a Saturday), of course I saw many cyclists on this beautiful day.

I don't cycle much in this part of the Netherlands, but with a start in Linschoten it became within reach. Towns or actually villages such as Linschoten are often seen in the region, small and with a nice atmosphere, while elsewhere villages often look very different. All places on the route are actually worth seeing.

The route goes a lot over dikes and polder roads, deliberately not just driving along the lek because then it might become a bit boring. the roads are often long and also have many open spaces, but this can of course be less fun if there is a lot of wind.

Still a very varied trip and I highly recommend it, but pay attention to the sailing times of the ferries because I eventually had to make an extra loop in Ameide towards Schoonhoven.

I bought my lunch at Lakerveld bakery in Wijk bij Duurstede, and immediately brought bread for the weekend because there are so many temptations in this store. In particular a small oat roll, that really made me happy.
