Walking through the quiet forests of the Vechtdal

A short detour
Are you not yet very experienced in walking long hiking routes or do you not have much time, but you still want to go for a nice walk? Then this short walk is really something for you. The starting point of the route is close to the Overijsselse river Boven-Regge. This river flows into the Overijsselse Vecht a little further on. From Nieuwebrug you walk the entire route through the beautiful green nature of the Vechtdal. The landscape consists of quiet forests and green meadows along the water.

Delightful Vechtdal
Your tour eventually ends at Restaurant De Nieuwe Brug. Here you can relax after your walk and you can experience what delicious things can be found in the Vechtdal. A nice cup of coffee with cake, a lunch or dinner consisting of pancakes, meat dishes or a vegetarian dish. It's all possible at De Nieuwe Brug. End the day in a festive way here. Newbridge
Nieuwebrug is a tiny hamlet in the municipality of Ommen. The name'Nieuwebrug\\\' comes from a bridge in the hamlet over the river Beneden-Regge. This bridge was already there in 1387 and more than five centuries ago there was already an inn here where people could meet. In the Middle Ages, consultations took place in this inn between the landlord and the representatives of the Ridderschap and Cities of Overijssel.
